Only One English Team Has Won All UCL Group Stage Games, Out Of 10 Teams That Have Achieved This Fit

The 2022–2023 UEFA Champions League group stage draw will take place later today, as 32 of the best teams in Europe will face each other in the different eight groups for a place in the knockout stage, as all the teams play to make the final, which will be held in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Turkey.

Over the years, there have been different records created and broken in the Champions League, but one peculiar record in the competition is going through the group stage and winning all the group stage matches. Only 10 teams have achieved this, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich doing it twice, but it is a thing of surprise that only one English team, Liverpool FC, has achieved this, as they won all their group stage games last season.

The first team to achieve this was AC Milan in the 1992/1993 season, before PSG in the 1994/95 season, and Spartak Moscow in the 1995/96 season. The next team that achieved this was Barcelona in 2002/2003, before Real Madrid did it in the 2011/2012 and 2014/2015 seasons.

Bayern Munich achieved this record twice, in the 2019/2020 season and in the 2021/2022 season. Ajax also won all their group stage games in the 2021–2022 UCL season, with Liverpool making up the third team that won all their group stage games in the 2021–2022 UEFA Champions League season.
